This month’s meeting took place on February 11, 2010 at the Four Seasons Hotel. There was a panel discussion of Corporate Risk, and what members of NEBTA should know to assist in the protection of their travelers. Speakers included:
                
Kevin Cassidy, Vice President, Global Security for Thomson Reuters.
Stephanie Cahill, Director of Security for the Four Seasons Boston
Alex Puig, Regional Security Director, Americas
David Sarafinas, Senior Director of Business Development, International SOS
 
 
Sharon Fogarty welcomed attendees (including new members in attendance) and gave other general announcements

 
Kerin McKinnon discussed the PAC Chapter Challenge & urged folks to email their local government reps through NBTA

Information Gathered from the Presentation
 
·         Legal ramifications of Duty of Care – very important
·         Employers underestimate risk, as well as travelers
·         Evacuate with a purpose – have a full plan in place
·         Think about providing your loved ones with the best possible care, and provide your travelers with that level of care
·         Corporate Manslaughter – non-military acts in UK, Ireland and Scotland (called corporate homicide in Scotland) –very important to understand!
·         Always know your environment when traveling, especially in hotels
·         GAP Analysis – know and start relationships with stake holders within your company
